Implementation Lead (Energy Tech Startup)
Mission: We are building modern data management and price modeling software for the chronically underserved electricity sector. Our platform provides a digital replica of the electricity grid, helping utilities and power producers navigate the energy transition and capitalize on market volatility.
The Role
As our Implementation Lead, you will own customer deployments from end-to-end. You are the connective tissue between our users and our engineering team—part project lead, part technical problem-solver, and part trusted partner. You will turn messy, real-world data into working product workflows and ensure customers realize measurable value quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Deployment Ownership: Lead customer engagements from kickoff through steady-state success, managing timelines, stakeholders, and outcomes.
- Data Strategy: Partner with engineering to translate customer data sources into our platform’s data model using SQL or Python for validation and prototyping.
- Customer Advocacy: Act as the “signal amplifier” by capturing product feedback and working with engineering to prioritize the roadmap.
- Process Building: Define the implementation playbook, creating repeatable processes and internal tooling to help us scale.
- Enablement: Serve as the frontline expert for training, documentation, and ongoing support to drive deep product adoption.
Requirements
- 4+ Years Experience: Proven track record in a customer-facing, execution-heavy role (e.g., Forward-Deployed Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Technical Implementation).
- Technical Fluency: Ability to reason about complex data systems and use SQL and/or Python for analysis and prototyping.
- Ambiguity Management: Comfort operating in a fast-paced startup environment where you must drive clear outcomes from “messy” problems.
- Communication: Ability to bridge the gap between technical users and executive stakeholders.
- Mission-Driven: A genuine interest in making the electricity grid cleaner, more resilient, and more efficient.
- Location: Remote-first (US-based) with a willingness to travel for customer on-sites as needed.
Why Join Us?
- Impact: As an early hire, you will define the implementation function and directly influence the product’s trajectory.
- High-Stakes Work: We support critical infrastructure; your work directly impacts how the country manages energy.
- Founding Culture: We are a high-trust, low-ego team that prioritizes open collaboration and independent execution.
- Growth: You aren’t a “ticket taker” here—you own the strategy and the execution of high-stakes customer problems.
